Composite materials are a rapidly developing and promising branch of science and economics and are used in almost all industries due to the availability of raw materials and accumulated experience in their application. It should be noted that over time, composite materials displace traditional ones, which has a positive effect not only on the final product, but also on the growth of human quality of life and economic development.

The 17th International specialized exhibition Composite-Expo, organized by the Mir-Expo Exhibition Company, was held on March 25 - 27, 2025 in Pavilions 1, 5 and 8 at the Expocentre Fairgrounds. Traditionally, the exhibition is an annual meeting place for Russian and foreign specialists from various industries, manufacturers, suppliers and consumers of composite materials, technologies and equipment for the production of products, a place to summarize the development over the past year and discuss prospects, as well as a source of new information for industry representatives.

In 2025, Composite Expo increased by 15% in terms of occupied space compared to last year and amounted to more than 6,000 square meters. The exhibition was attended by more than 6,000 specialists from various industries. The exhibition was visited by more than 160 key Russian and foreign manufacturers of raw materials and equipment for the production of composites from Russia, the Republic of Belarus, Turkey, China, the United Arab Emirates and the Islamic Republic of Iran.

A number of exhibitors presented new technologies and product samples at the event. They are as follows:

A regular exhibitor of the Composite-Expo exhibition BMP Technology company is the official distributor of the world's leading manufacturers of materials for the composite industry, presented the following products at the stand: epoxy resins; silicone compounds for reusable vacuum bags and thermally expandable elastic mandrels; block materials and model pastes; resins and gelcoats for manufacturing matrices; vacuum filling resins and RIM systems; polyurethane filling resins; related materials.

ACME, a company specializing in the production of industrial thermal equipment for new materials and new energy, presented at the exhibition high-quality industrial thermal equipment for applications in various fields such as carbon materials, for heat treatment and for powder metallurgy.

At the Composite-Expo Formula Carbon, a Russian trade and manufacturing company specializing in the supply of composite materials to Russia, supplied epoxy resins, hardeners, vacuum materials, fiberglass, aramid and carbon fabrics, as well as all necessary devices and tools, including its own production, for manufacturers of finished products made from these materials. The company's products are used in the aviation and space industries, the manufacture of sports equipment, shipbuilding and medical equipment, as well as in the automotive industry.

At Composite Expo 2025 Akrid, a leading Russian manufacturer of two-component structural adhesives, presented a line of products from its own production that can replace imported analogues. The company's adhesives have been successfully integrated into the technological processes of the largest companies in the railway, automotive and shipbuilding industries. These products can be used to glue a wide variety of materials: polydicyclopentadiene, steel, aluminum, ferrous metal, stainless steel, ABS and SAN plastic, ceramics, glass, fiberglass, composite and acrylic plastic.

At the exhibition Belstekoplast presented fiberglass profiles of various cross-sections and sizes of its own production for use in various industries: structural profile (construction), dielectric profile (energy), special profile (agriculture, crop production, infrastructure facilities, automotive industry), profile for domestic use (anti-slip step cover, garter profile garden plants), a profile for insulation systems of industrial and civil buildings.

Berkana presented composite enclosures for electrical installation equipment at its stand, which are used in various extreme conditions, including the mining industry, the oil and gas sector, and electric grid companies. Advantages of these enclosures: corrosion resistance, resistance to fuels and lubricants, acids, salts, self–extinguishing under the influence of fire, operating temperature - from -60 to +80C, prevention of ice formation, low specific gravity, color fastness to ultraviolet radiation, transmission of radio and GSM signal, dielectric properties, degree of protection IP54, IK10.

Intelligent Robot Systems (IRS) - a company specializing in the wholesale and retail supply of composite materials, presented the following products at the exhibition: carbon filaments (carbon fibers), aramid fibers, basalt fibers, carbon fabrics, tapes, strips, winding and spinning equipment, weaving machines for the manufacture of carbon fabrics, cutting plotters, vacuum equipment molding and infusion, pultrusion lines for the production of composite profiles and fittings, equipment for the manufacture of metal composite cylinders.

At the exhibition Composite Stroy - one of the largest and most successful sellers and manufacturers of polyester and epoxy resins, polyurethanes, silicones, protective coatings, reinforcing materials and other components and equipment for the composite materials industry - presented the following unique materials at its stand for the first time: polyester systems with reduced shrinkage (less than 1%); polyester systems with increased HDT (more than 150 °C); Polyester gelcoats and resins for creating thermally conductive forming matrices; epoxy systems with a minimum coefficient of moisture absorption for the production of boats, yachts, surfboards; infusion low-viscosity epoxy compounds for the production of carbon fiber products; epoxy injection compounds for creating maximum dimensional fillings (up to 150 mm).

At the Composite-Expo MILLAB, a company engaged in the supply of thermal, testing, vacuum, analytical and laboratory equipment, presented the following equipment at its stand: atmospheric furnace BR-17AM-2 (Brother Furnace), Muffle furnace BR-18HM-5 (Brother Furnace), Climate Chamber heat sink-humidity ST-22-40H (SONACME), Drying cabinet BGZ-70 (BOXUN).

Neva Technologies supplies the Russian market with equipment that is in demand and widely used in many domestic machine-building enterprises, including the aviation, aerospace and shipbuilding industries. These include digital cutting plotters, laser projectors, autoclave molding systems, laser and optical scanners, testing machines, non-destructive testing systems, laser trackers, and more.

One of the regular exhibitors of the Composite-Expo exhibition - the Scientific Research Institute of Space and Aviation Materials (NIICAM) is engaged in the following areas: manufacture of electronic kits for satellites; manufacture of prepregs from high-modulus and high-strength carbon fibers; presents carbon fiber products, including for antennas and housings of spacecraft, etc.; adhesives, including films for space; adhesive films, films, fasteners, etc. At Composite Expo 2025, the Institute introduced composite materials with shape memory for the first time; screen-vacuum thermal insulation is an ultralight, ultra-efficient thermal insulation material; adhesives (heat-resistant, moisture-resistant, high-strength structural adhesives, including film adhesives, adhesives of permanent stickiness, etc.).

Polyplast-UralSib attended the Composite Expo for the first time. Liquid and solid epoxy-diane resins, which are reactive oligomeric products based on epichlorohydrin and diphenylolpropane, soluble in organic solvents, were presented at the company's stand. When epoxy resins are mixed with hardeners, a chemical reaction occurs, resulting in a durable and solid material. The largest consumers of epoxy resins in Russia are enterprises producing composite materials, the paint and varnish industry, and construction.

Techno-Composite company presented at the exhibition a wide range of auxiliary materials for vacuum and autoclave molding, infusion, as well as basic and auxiliary materials for the manufacture of composite equipment, widely used by enterprises of the aviation industry of the Russian Federation.

SUPERPLAST presented the following materials of its own production at its stand: epoxy binders for polymer composite materials for various purposes, anti-vibration mastics and vibration-absorbing materials to reduce vibration in structures, water-based epoxy paints and varnishes resistant to the climate of the tropics and the middle zone, formulations for colorless coatings and anticorrosive materials. The company is also engaged in the development and production of basalt-filled thermoplastics, the characteristics of which exceed existing global analogues. For the first time, the company's innovative product, basalt composite fiber (mini reinforcement) for concrete reinforcement, was presented at the exhibition.

At the Composite Expo Melytec supplied various equipment in the following areas: spectrometers of the chemical composition of materials and diffractometers of the phase composition of materials; optical and mass spectroscopy; preparation equipment; microscopes and digital cameras; hardness meters; equipment for measuring in the nanometer range; scanning electron microscopes; testing machines; high-frequency (resonance) testing systems; high-precision X-ray diagnostic systems; thermal analysis and rheology.

 

For the first time, as part of the business program of the exhibition, on March 25, 2025, a round table "Promising composite materials for various industries: present and future" was held, the main objectives of which were: the exchange of knowledge and achievements in the field of composite materials for various industries; the development of scientific and technical cooperation and the development of mechanisms for the widespread introduction and application of innovative technologies for the production of composite materials.

The organizers of the round table were: SIC Kurchatov Institute; SIC Kurchatov Institute - Central Research Institute of KM Prometheus and SIC Kurchatov Institute - VIAM.

An important event of the business program of the Composite-Expo 2025 exhibition was the fourth edition of Practical use of composite materials in different industries (R&D Conference) which was held on March 26, 2025, in the Conference Hall D2 on the territory of the exhibition pavilion No. 1. The conference was attended by more than 70 specialists. Vladimir Bannikov, General Director of Mir-Expo VC LLC, welcomed the conference delegates.

During the event, practical aspects of the use of composite materials and products made of composites in priority sectors of the economy were discussed.

Sergey Grachev, Deputy Director of the Department of Metallurgy and Materials of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation, spoke about measures to support the industry of composite materials (composites) and products made from them.

Tatiana Lapitskaya, General Director of ENPC Epital, dedicated her presentation to the story of new high-tech epoxy compounds ETAL for use in mass production of infusion products.

Maxim Rubtsov, Head of the Design and Technology department at Composite Izdeliya, made a presentation on "Manufacturing high-temperature composite equipment using Composite Products LLC materials".

Ilya Vikhrov, Deputy General Director for Scientific Work at Scientific Research Institute of Space and Aviation Materials, LLC, spoke about NIIKAM composite materials for microwave radio engineering products - antenna fairings, printed circuit boards.

Andrey Zavadsky, an engineer at Volna JSC, presented a report on the possibilities of Volna CJSC in the field of manufacturing equipment for polymerization of composite materials.

About the basic and auxiliary materials of the Composite Products company: Fyodor Vlasenko, Ph.D., Technical Director of Composite Izdeliya, spoke about the experience of application and new developments.

Alexey Davydov, a leading development engineer at Locus, dedicated his presentation to automated thermal control of parts and products made of composite materials using equipment developed in the Russian Federation.

Alexey Kepman, CEO of ITEKMA, made a presentation on "ITEKMA composite materials for unmanned aerial vehicles".

Andrey Golinkevich, brand manager of Smart-T LLC, spoke about iECHO complexes and the practice of digital cutting of composite materials.

Marina Kochurikhina, Business Development Manager at ATECO LLC, presented a report on the use of structural thermoplastics for the production of large-sized forming equipment.

Alexander Solopchenko, a representative of ANO CSIS FMT, made a presentation on "The capabilities of ANO CSIS FMT for testing composite materials".

Maxim Yurkov, Senior Expert at the Department of Scientific Research at the Russian Maritime Register of Shipping, spoke about the use of composite materials in industry and shipbuilding.

Evgeny Grigoriev, General Director of the Composite Valley Research Center, presented the report "INTC Composite Valley". Project status".

Evgeny Usenko, Director of Techprom-NGS, devoted his presentation to the development and production of composites and products based on superstructural and engineering thermoplastics for use in various fields of industry.

 

At the same time with Composite-Expo, there held the 16th edition of the international specialized exhibition POLYURETHANEX that allowed a wide range of specialists to get acquainted with innovation technologies of manufacturing and samples of finished products of polyurethane materials for different branches of industry and attracted significant attention of specialists of the industry: manufacturers and consumers of adhesive and sealing materials.

In 2025 113 exhibitors took part in the events from 6 countries (Russia, the Republic of Belarus, Turkey, China, the UAE and the Islamic Republic of Iran).

In 2025, on the space about 15000 sq. m. there situated 273 exhibitors, including 138 national (domestic) companies and 135 foreign ones from 6 countries.

About 7500 people visited the shows and 90% of them were specialists in different fields of industry. It witnesses growing demands of the Russian market to use modern innovation materials and technologies in different industries.
